In Bella Thorne’s new movie The Babysitter, it turns out there’s something a bit peculiar about the high schooler that gets put in charge of watching over a young boy named Cole. But the group of satanic worshipping teens isn’t the only that’s off — an ad promoting the movie on Netflix is too. And the internet took notice.
Redditor moofthestoof uploaded a picture of the movie’s teaser image as it appears on the streaming service, which shows the back of the “babysitter” who is holding a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in one hand, and what appears to be either a bloody (or jelly covered?) knife in the other. The Redditor wrote: “Is it just me, or does ‘The Babysitter’ have two right hands?” Others clamored to comment, one person even saying that they re-created the poster and took a photo to prove the point. The poster does indeed appear to be digitally altered, and whoever made the creation didn’t catch their Photoshop fail. Meanwhile, the internet appears to have loved it because the Reddit post has racked up over 14,000 upvotes.
This is certainly far from the first time something like this has happened. Fans frequently point out misalignments on some of our favorite posters or, mostly, Instagram photos. In a world where edited images have become all too normal, it’s kind of amazing that fans are starting to see through the cracks – err, pixels? At least this flub is one that people are taking in good humor.
