Harry Styles sent fans buzzing on Monday (Oct. 20) after he was captured on social media showing off a new, shorter haircut.
In the photos, the pop star appears to have traded his free-flowing quarantine locks for a newly-shorn look reminiscent of his role in the 2017 war epic Dunkirk, all while wearing a Friends-inspired graphic tee made famous by Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel. (Don’t worry, though, this time around he kept some of his trademark curls on top.)
“SO WE WENT FROM FRAT BOY HARRY TO DUNKIRK HARRY IN LIKE A WEEK- OKAY,” one fan wrote on Twitter alongside the photo of Styles flashing a peace sign, wearing a mask and socially distancing from the fan taking the selfie.
“All the dunkirk harry stans are freaking out right now i just know it,” another tweeted while sharing snaps from both the film and its red carpet premiere to help compare the singer’s updated look, while a third declared, “He is so pretty…I love him with this kind of hair style.”
And just like his big-screen debut, Styles’ haircut seems to have come just in time for a new film role — last month, news broke that he had joined the cast of Don’t Worry, Darling alongside Florence Pugh. Directed by Olivia Wilde, the ’50s-set psychological thriller is slated to begin production this fall.
Of course, this is far from the first follicular change the former One Direction-er has experimented with during the pandemic. Back in July, he showed off a bushy — and polarizing — mustache while touring Villa Manodori in Moderna, Italy.
Meanwhile, Styles’ hit single “Watermelon Sugar” continues to reign on the Hot 100, sitting at No. 9 on the chart dated Oct. 24 after peaking at No. 1 back in August.
