Less than a day after news broke Vanessa Trump had filed for divorce from Donald Trump Jr., the couple released a joint statement about their split, E! reports.
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways,” the statement reads. “We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”
Page Six reported Vanessa “filed for an uncontested proceeding, meaning she’s not expected a legal battle over custody of the couple’s five children or their assets.” The last time Vanessa appeared on Don Jr.’s social media accounts (which he is very active on) was for their son Donald Trump III’s ninth birthday last month:
The statement is pretty standard and evasive as far as celebrity split announcements go, though, of course, this is not a standard celebrity split. Stay tuned.
