Clara’s Tidbits, a popular, family-owned lunch and catering restaurant for 35 years has opened its third location in Jacksonville
Clara’s Tidbits recently opened its third family-owned Jacksonville restaurant — bringing its classic chicken salad, popular potato salad, homemade soups and freshly made sandwiches to the Mandarin area.
The new lunch and catering restaurant opened Nov. 22 at 12276 San Jose Blvd. near the Julington Creek bridge, It’s hours are 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the restaurant said in a news release.
It joins the original Clara’s Tidbits, 1076 Hendricks Ave., in the city’s San Marco neighborhood. Six years ago, the second restaurant opened at 8535 Baymeadows Road in Baymeadows.
All three boast from-scratch recipes that quickly become customer favorites. It’s best known for its chicken and potato salads.
Clara LeBlanc, restaurant founder, started working in the kitchen at a young age. After a brief stint as a real estate agency, she opened the San Marco restaurant location when she was 20.
He late husband, Gregory LeBlanc, joined her in the business after they married. Together they guided the restaurant’s growth. They expanded the dining room twice and made the catering business into one of the largest catering companies in Jacksonville.
The couple’s two sons, Austen and Mason, joined the company after graduating from college.
“Being in business for over 30 years still amazes me,” Clara LeBlanc said in the news release. “Every day we turn the key, and we’re grateful for every customer that walks through the door.”
The restaurant and catering company employs about 50 people.
LeBlanc said they’ve followed a simple recipe for success.
“Focusing on serving the freshest food with great customer service and taking care of our staff has gotten us through tough times over the years and has contributed to our longevity,” she said in the news release.
